Training Program Recognition

Trainer Recognition

ETCP Certificants are required to participate in on-going professional education to maintain their certification. ETCP awards recognition to specific training programs and to individual trainers that meet established criteria. Certificants who take either ETCP Recognized Training Programs or courses from ETCP Recognized Trainers will receive twice as many renewal credits.

I want to become ETCP Recognized:
how do I decide which type of recognition to apply for?

Training Program Recognition

If you are applying on behalf of an organization that puts on a training program that has a standard curriculum and/or utilizes a number of instructors to teach the program, or you are not an ETCP Certified Technician, then Training Program Recognition would be the appropriate choice for you.

Approval is granted based on submission of the course curriculum, instructor bios and other materials. Recognition is valid for two years for that specific program only.

Trainer Recognition

If you are an experienced, independent trainer who teaches on a consistent basis for a variety of audiences and you find yourself adjusting your material on the fly to suit the level of your students, then Trainer Recognition is the best choice for you. You must be an ETCP Certified Technician in the relevant area to apply for Trainer Recognition. If your training is conducted solely as in-house training for an individual company, or you are not ETCP Certified, you will need to apply for Training Program Recognition.

Recognized status, once conferred, is effective until the trainer ceases to actively conduct classes, subject to review by ETCP every five years. Recognized Trainer status is also subject to review by the ETCP Disciplinary Committee should there be a valid complaint.
