Since 1982, AMPTP has been the primary trade association with respect to labor issues in the motion picture and television industry. AMPTP negotiates 80 industry-wide collective bargaining agreements that cover actors, craftspersons, directors, musicians, technicians and writers – virtually all of the people who work on theatrical motion pictures and television programs. In these negotiations, AMPTP represents over 350 production companies and studios. The guilds involved in these negotiations include the American Federation of Musicians; American Federation of Television and Radio Artists; Directors Guild of America; International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees; International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; Labors Local 724; Screen Actors Guild; Teamsters Local 399; and Writers Guild of America.
